So you want to root your Micromax A57 Ninja 3 smartphone. This model runs on Android 3.0 which is very old so it comes with very less features. Basic Prerequisites before rooting Micromax A57 Ninja 3:

As rooting process involves loss of data it is advised to backup all your valuable data which might be restored after wards when you need it. In case you loose your data or get your data corrupted you can always have your backup to restore it back.

Things you need to back up: Create a backup of all the data like call log, messages (How to Backup SMS and Restore it on any Android Device), applications , music, videos and other data which is present in the phone, so that you can restore the same once the rooting process is completed.

Enable USB debugging mode (Menu (app drawer) > Settings > Developer Option/Development > USB Debugging – check box) [Guide to Enable USB Debugging mode on various Android Versions]

Also be sure that your battery is not below 85% if not you could get your device turned off in the middle of the firmware update.

See that all your security suites like antivirus and firewalls are disabled on your computer.

Make sure you have installed Micromax A57 Ninja 3 USB drivers provided along with the device at purchase.

Step 1: Download the Unlock Root along with .android and extract it in your computer. Usually it gets extracted to C:\Documents and settings\<Your Computer name> if you are using windows XP else C:\Users\<Your Computer name> if you are using windows 7.

Be sure your .android rar is extracted in the above said path.

Step 2: Connect your Micromax A57 Ninja 3 to your computer with the help of the original USB cable provided in the sales package at the time of purchase. MAke sure USB debugging is ON.

If USB debugging is OFF, Go to Settings>>Applications>>Development>>USB Debugging and enable it.

Step 3: After your phone is connected go to the folder where you first extracted .android
and remeber the path.

Step 4: Open Command Prompt (Win+R>cmd) and navigate to the extracted folder
For windows XP type this in command prompt “CD C:\Documents and settings\<Your Computer name>\.android” If you are using Windows 7 then type “CD C:\Users\<Your Computer name>\.android”

Step 5: Now write “adb devices” (Without “”) in the command prompt.

Step 6: It will show Micromax A56 or Micromax A57. Don’ worry both are same. And if it shows Micromax A57 then its good.

Step 7: Now open Unlock Root (“Unlockroot.exe”) which you have downloaded in the first step and click on “Root” button.

Step 8: You need to give “Yes” for confirmation and wait for few minutes to root your Micromax A57 Ninja 3. Your mobile will reboot automatically and then your device is rooted.

Note: Rooting process should only be done after you install the original USB drivers of Micromax A57 Ninja 3 which you have got at the time of purchase.

HOW TO ROOT (AND UNROOT) THE SAMSUNG GALAXY Y DUOS (S6102)

The Samsung Galaxy Y Duos is a dual-SIMMed newer sibling of the popular Galaxy Y and while there are any high-end features to write home about, it does suffice nicely for a entry-level device that has the major aspects Android covered.  The device sports  a 3.14-inch touchscreen display, an 832MHz CPU with 512MB RAM, and runs the age-old Android 2.3.3 Gingerbread firmware.  If you want to try something newer like ICS or even Jelly Bean on it, custom ROMs is the only way to go and to get there, you need to root the device and install a custom recovery on it.  Use the guide below to know how to root (and unroot if needed) the Galaxy Y Duos S6102.

I.  BEFORE YOU BEGIN

1.  Back up everything you feel is important before you begin.

2.  Make sure you have charged your device to 75% or more before you begin.

II.  NECESSARY DOWNLOADS

1.  update.zip [File attached to this post]

2.  unroot.zip [File attached to this post]

III.  ROOTING THE GALAXY Y DUOS

1.  Connect your device to your PC using a microUSB cable and copy the update.zip file you downloaded above to your SD card (Do not put it into any subfolders, just the main folder so the path is sdcard/update.zip).

2.  Power down your device and put it into recovery mode.  To do this, press and hold the Volume Up + Home + Power keys until you see the Samsung Galaxy Y logo and let them go after that.

3.  Use the Volume buttons to highlight “select update.zip from sdcard” and press the home button to select it.

4.  On the next screen, select update.zip, and then select Yes on the next screen.

5.  Once the flashing is done, go back to the main menu and reboot your device.

That’s it!  Your Galaxy Y Duos is now rooted!

Step by Step Guide to root Micromax A110 Canvas 2 running Stock OS:

Step 1: Download the Bin4ry Rooting Toolkit and extract it in your computer.

Step 2: Connect your Micromax A110 Canvas 2 to your computer with the help of the original USB cable provided in the sales package at the time of purchase. Wait for some time for the drivers to install. Usually drivers will be installed automatically, if you face any problems in the installation then use Pdanet to install your drivers manually.

Step 3: Once your computer detects your phone, change the mode of your Canvas 2 device from USB storage to Media Device.

Step 4: Open the files in the folder which you have downloaded and extracted in the step 1.

Step 5: Choose RunMe and click on the file. A CMD screen appears with some options.

Step 6: In the window you will be asked to choose one option among Normal and Special. You need to choose Normal Mode by pressing 1 and then hit Enter.

• Open the MTK tools app.
• Select update recovery option, now choose the recovery.img that you have just transferred to your Micromax A110.
• The app will flash CWM recovery on your A110 now.

Step by Step Guide to root Micromax A110 Canvas 2 running on Jelly Bean OS:

Step 1: Download Latest CWM Recovery for Micromax A110 Canvas 2 and rename the downloaded file to recovery.img. Also download MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc.txt from here.

Step 2: Next download the Flash_Tools.rar and extract it in your computer.

Step 3: Open Flash Tools from the downloaded file and run Flash_tool.exe.

Step 4: Click Scatter-loading and select the downloaded file MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc.txt.

Check recovery option and uncheck all other options.

Step 5: Click on Recovery and select the cwm recovery image called the recovery.img. Make sure to switch off your phone and connect it to your pc.

Step 6: Remove your phone from your computer. Click the Download button provided in the Flash tool.

Step 7: Reconnect your phone to the computer. Ensure the drivers for your phone are installed on your computer. If it is done correctly, a green ring appears on the screen indicating the progress.

Now your Micromax A110 Canvas 2 running on Jellybean OS is successfully flashed. Check your device withroot checker if it is rooted or not.

1. Download Super user binaries. Move it to the root of your sdcard.
2. Switch off your handset.
3. Press Power + Volume Up + Volume Down buttons to boot your device in CWM mode.
